Forget the MCG get to the PRR.

2002 - This weekend started as many had before, fine weather, full eskies and great anticipation.
Wrighty and the Batsmoker were first on site and prepared a suitable camping location that would suit our requirements. Early afternoon and all was well, the other members of the group slowly started to arrive.
First night was calm with a slow evening of drinking around the camp fire. A group from Torquay had arrived and set up camp nearby which made a fine change in company which is required throughout the weekend.

Saturday saw the start of the "Scotch Off" which includes drinking scotch as fast as you can, this appeared a great idea but perhaps 8 am was to early a start. The campers slowly woke from their slumber and greated another wonderful Princetown morning. Fishing, Cricket and camp bowls on the agenda the day was full. 9am and the beer was flowing it wasnt long before the dresses were on and the Cross Dress test had begun. Warm weather and what continues to appear to be old age saw an early finish to the Test, a trend that will hopefully cease in 2003.
Rain was falling but only the fire was dampened, Ice Pick arrived via road after being picked up by a traveller to these parts, not much was seen of Ice pick as he spent a lot of time rolling 'Tabacco' cigarettes in the confines of vehicles.

The weekend continued on in good spirit, the only incident for the weekend involved Blood shed on the cricket field after The Dude bowled a quickly rising delivery hitting the batsman in the nose.
One note for all those who visit this site, please be careful when driving your vehicle at Princetown as Fast cars, reckless driving, alcohol and children or other campers do not mix and i am sure we speak for all camper at Princetown that consideration is the key.

Sunday saw us all pack up and leave, with the Promise of a return in 2003, and a guarentee that next year we can make it even better.
What started of as a weekend away for a group of young men has since become an institution.
Princetown, the small coastal resort located on the Great Ocean Road, in Victoia's South West has been remembered as a second home for those fews days during the Australia day weekend.
And as 2006 with the dawn of a new Era and a new date, approaches I am sure that once again PrincetwononOz will return to the weekend of discrace it once was!!!
Princetown History

1996 - The First year of this event. The weather was against us, the elements were unkind, but we prevailed. Mathew King was one with idea's, his face paint assisted us all, The workload Mat Bolte put in over the weekend saw him only leave his tent once for the entire weeknd. Mick Crichton was a highlight, his capacity to entertain 10 young bloke with appendage we all had at arms length was something we will never forget.

1997 - This year the Gods were upon us, fishing, swimming, drinking, participating in sporting pursuits, drinking, jumping of the Gellibrand River Bridge, drinking and smoking cigarettes like they were going out of fashion. Wtih characters the likes of Fuzz, Jorr and Gary "David " Barling and Micheal " Ghost " Birch the weekend was a huge sucess.

1998 - Well was this was a weekend, Pato and his cocktails of bundy and milk, several members of the troop found sleeping out the front of the Port Campbell Hotel after a visit to town. The well rehearsed ritual of Spotlight was again a highlight of the trip, dont know why but the idea of grown men running through scrub in the middle of the night with dark clothes, eskies and a torch is a hit. A thunderstorm with a fanatstic lightning show was a highlight of our last evening.

1999-2000 - Unfortunatly we did not travel to Princetown on either of these years.

The above documentsare a tribute to the weekend, anonymous writers have contributed these fine articles, a true indication of the weekends affect on us all.
2001 - After a fews years off and the batteries re charged Princetown once again made an entry to our now busy diary pages. The inaugrual Cross Dress Test was a highlight early in the peice as we all donned our Gals attire and entered the playing field of champions. Unfortunatly due to the high temperatures and lack of motivation shown by a select few the Test was cut short with all moving towards the shading confines of our camp, and the comfort of our new found friend Mr. Alcohol.
The weekend was set up by the early arrival at camp by Jobby,Slatts, Wrighty and his trusy companion Wally. With camp set up and the cans cracked they awaited the arrival of those not yet there.
After several hours and many happy greetings the place started to fire up, and i mean fire up, Kingy had delivered on his promise of a Hungi and the hole was dug and the fire started, the rocks that would later cook the meat as it was buried deep into coals were placed in the fire pit. Unfortunatly for all involved Kingy fell in a Hole long before the Meat did, but the camp continued and were rewarded in the morning with a fine side of lamb and some roasted chickens to die for, or die from, what ever came first.
In the true competitive spirit of the Aussie day weekend a Grecko Roman wrestling tournament had begun, the sport that stunned the nation at Sydney in 2000 had now placed its firm grip aroung the members of PrincetownonOz 2001, until Jorr thundered to the turf and was left helpless as a stunned camp watched Peter Gleeson boast of his triumph.
Without going on, the weekend also included many more highlights; the first nude victory in a game of spotlight, alot of nude swimming in the early morning darkness, the attempted drunken pick up by Wally the dog on Cheti the dog (In Wallys defence the only female on hand).
Roachy and Wrighty would also like to take this opportunity to Apologise to the lovely campers and their children over by the recreation building for the fear they may have caused while on a training mission for Spotlight.

2005 (Boxing Day)

Well a new date and few numbers but this did not stop the excitement of Princetown 2005 version II. After discussions amoungst members when in Perth for Batsmokers wedding the decision was made to change the date of Princetown to Boxing Day to allow interstate members to attend, this decision proved beneficial to our interstae guests but unfortunately there was a definate lack of support shown by the local members well done to Figgsy, Slats and Fuzz for your commitmernt to the cause.

Batsmoker, Pumpa and Roachy took off for Princetown on Boxing Day afternoon, the weather was fine and the first beer was opened as we passed the Premier Speedway. It felt good to have the (to be continued)
